Gee, Ted. Considering you are upgrading FROM an Athalon 1.2 GHz, might I
suggest looking at something with a bit more horsepower? I've looking at
some of the dual boards from Asus and Tyan. Tyan makes a series of
boards for the Xeon chips in dual configurations with and without
onboard SCSI. They also make some dual Athalon boards that are equally
impressive. My current box is a dual PIII 500MHz that, even running RH8
with the default bells and whistles and an active database and an
Interchange demo site in perl running, I am barely seeing any loading on
the box. 

I would expect that a dual Xeon 2.2GHz would be a SERIOUS number
cruncher for my modeling apps and some scientific visualization.
