There are some disc/player combinations out there that are just incompatible. 
Since I bought my player in 2001, I have only encountered one disc that 
wouldn't play on it. But that one just refused. I took it down to the rental 
place, Movies Worth Watching, and they popped it in their player, which 
handled it just fine. I don't know what the problem was. It''s rare enough 
that I didn't think about it anymore.
