members of the Linux community are making use of Linux on the

Sessions and conference announcements.
* LISA '03:
Despite raging wildfires and smoke-filled courtyards, LISA '03 in
San Diego emerged as a very successful conference. Over 1,100
people took part in the 6-day event. Highlights included a rousing
keynote by EBay's Paul Kilmartin, director of availability and
engineering; a popular SPAM mini-symposium; and an entertaining
Halloween party. Special thanks to all the attendees and speakers
who braved unfavorable conditions to make this year's conference a
success. Summaries of the conference will be published in the
February issue of ;login:. Conference proceedings are now available
to members on the Web site, visit:

* Can't get enough LISA:
The Call for Papers for LISA'04 is now posted. Check it out at

* ATTENTION MEMBERS: It is time for you to think about the next
round of elections for the Board of Directors of USENIX. The eight
board members (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary,
and four board members at large) stand for election every two
years. To facilitate the nominating process, USENIX has a
nominating committee. If you interested in running or have
suggestions for nominations, please see:
http://www.usenix.org/about/elections04.html
* BSD Conference Reports are now available: visit
http://www.usenix.org/#bsdcon03
* USENIX / SAGE NEWS: It is now possible to join SAGE separately.
SAGE: The People Who Make IT Work, offers a SAGE-only individual
membership for $40. For benefit details, please visit:
