Something else that comes to mind is might it interfere with
hams/swls/other users of the HF spectrum in your neighborhood? And if
it does, it also leaves the possiblity that someone operating a
transmitter in the neighborhood might interfere with your network, and
there'd be nothing you could do about it legally, as you'd probably be
found at fault for running an unshielded network.
Part of the reason this comes to mind is that hams (and other users of
shortwave frequencies) are rather up in arms over BPL (Broadband over
Power Line), which carries the possiblity of making shortwave radio
pretty well useless, as it adds a pretty high level of radio noise from
2 thru 80 Mhz. Running ethernet over power line is going to produce
pretty similar results.
