[ale] SCO cracked again

Prepare for rant about semantics:

It wasn't hacked or cracked, they *claim* they are subject to a DDOS
attack. This is neither hacking or cracking, as such an attack does not
require an intrusion of www.sco.com. (yes, it might imply an intrusion
of some other poor soul's machinery, but that's a whole 'nother argument).

/rant

Also, for a variety of reasons, this seems less than plausible (hence my
emphasis on "claim"). For the non-slashdotters on the list, see
http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20031210163721614 for a decent
if not stellar analysis of the facts. Looks pretty fishy.

They happened to manage to fire off press releases at virtually the same
time the attack started (and at 4ish am Pacific Time at that).

Add to that the widespread belief that the last time SCO claimed to be
the subjects of DDOS attack, many came to the conclusion later that
incident was not what they claimed either. (They just happened to come
up the next morning with an all-new redesigned website).
