That is not necessarily true.  It is more a case of having a very-well
configured mail server (clean IP, rDNS, non-relay, etc, etc.)  I run several
very large mailinglists and daily send hundreds of bulk email to Hotmail,
Yahoo!, AOL, EarthLink, AT&T, etc without any problems.
