Then you need to check out the linux usb web site to see if your device 
is supported.  My Sony camcorder is.  Check out:

Also, hook the cam up to your usb port and:

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

You'll need either usb support in your kernel or modules to support it.

usbcore
usb-uhci or usb-ohci (depending on your hardware)

For my camcorder I also need usb-storage and scsi_mod to mount the 
memory stick.


Where does your camera store the images?  Removable media??

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
