My exact thoughts. Plus, if the fan dies, hot air in the wall would pour
into the case (Hot air expands...). FWIW, I work out of my house and
have several machines that generate alot of heat, both internally and
externally. My solution to this problem was to use solid state air
conditioning: I have a peltier that cools a finned copper (Fins are on
the inside of the tube) tube that is 4 inches long. The copper tube is
the same diameter as the Pico Ace 25 fan that blows air into the cpu
case and is attached with screws to the fan housing. The inside of my of
computers average 74 degrees F and the CPU chip cores at full load never
exceed 102 degrees F (AMD 1Ghz and 2Ghz machines). The total cost for
each machine was $45.00.
Both my computer and the room they are in stay nice and cool :)
