Tom,

I do not think Abiword has an e-mail module; you will have to use
an existing e-mail program such as Kmail or one from a browser.

if the recipient can handle the Abiword format just attach and send;
Else, SaveAs Word or Word Perfect document (I forget which Abiword
      supports), then attach and send;
OrElse save as a text document (lose all formatting) and paste into
      body of e-mail.
