Geoffrey,

For your reference, I have a Athlon 2200+ that runs average of 44 degrees
celcius idle on the die, and can hit upwards of 50 degrees under heavy
extended load.  This is in a rather hot room, with four case fans, and
card cooler, and a Volcano 6cu+.

I was running at around 53 degrees idle with a different heat sink, and
close to 58 at full load.

According to AMD, those were acceptable temps.  However, according the the
*very* helpful tech support people at tcwo.com, that was a bit high.

Anyway, I suspect your temps are actually pretty good.  Granted, it'd be
better to be in the 30s, but I don't forsee you having any problems.

Max "death" temp for the 1800 iirc is 90 degrees and for the 2200 85 degrees.
