how are you "Enabling" the extra memory? via lilo options? via
kernel highmemory compiled in
options? I have run 8 gig on an 8 way xeon with no issues on a 2.4.1
kernel( 2.2.* would not work,
but I had to set it to the full 64GB setting in High memory support).
You will probably need to
recompile the kernel to support this as most distributions dont like to
enable high memory support
right out of an install.
