I'd be curious how the ratio of honest politicians compares to the ratio of
honest CEOs and CFOs...

I'm reminded of the quotation:
An honest politician is one who stays bought.
But I agree about the difficulty in getting good politicians in office
making good policy (including the idea of a hacker in such position). The
money is so good, and there are so many good purposes that it can be used
for, it's a very slippery slope :/ And the "Common Man" put in that kind
of position, used to making maybe 50-75 grand a year, would be completely
blown away by "contributions" of nearly that much, and "donations" larger
than a single paycheck :/
