Thanks ALE for all of the help. My "database" is all in flat text files.
Anyway, the gui file find that I was talking about was in RedHat 7.1 -7.3.
Under Gnome, you click on the KDE menu (because I had them both installed of
course) and it is at the very bottom. It works really well, and had a
"containing text" blank under "advanced" that allows for grep-ing files
automatically from the GUI.
