As I noted earlier.  Question is, why do you want to turn a still quite 
useful tool into a device you can purchase at Wal-Mart for $15?

Of course I perfectly understand the 'because it's there syndrome', 
being as I've done quite a bit of that in my time from physical 
excursions to mental. :)

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
