Not only do you need a driver for USB, you need a driver specific to the 
Memorex CF Reader.  If there is one, and its loaded (and you've got USB 
storage enabled), then it looks like a SCSI drive.  Mine (a Sandisk one) 
is /dev/sda1.

Be sure you have the latest 2.4 Kernel.

FYI, mine as ~$30 at BestBuy in January.
