[ale] Recommendations for email services?

After discovering that my IPP (including Web and email services) has
recently been blacklisted by SpamCop, and who knows what other anti-spam
filters out there YET AGAIN <arrgh/>, I now feel the need to have my IPP
change its MX records for my domain from their host to another provider. Of
course, it would help to have a job to afford the extra service. :(

Anyway, does anyone out there have any experience with such email providers?
My basic requirements are:

- must be able to take anything_to_the_left_of_the_ at mydomain.com
- must be able to forward specificaddresses at mydomain.com to other mailboxes
  (or to /dev/null if I'm getting spammed)
- preferably allow secure/encrypted POP3, IMAP and/or SMTP protocols
- preferably allow telnet or ssh services

Some of what I describe may only be available with a web hosting account.
I'll take advisement on that as well.
