[ale] OT: Perl redirect that retains form fields

It is possible to pass this information within perl itself using a form 
of recursion such as:

if ($firsttimethrough){ # set a bunch of form values } else {
	# do something with these form values }

I've done this in a previous life, but don't have the time right now to 
research it further...

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
