ftp> reget xyz.tar

works for me and is a bit simpler.  Tells ftp to start off where it 
ended and append to the existing file, 1. if it exists, and 2. it's smaller.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
