 I had the same problem on my Compaq Armada. RH 7.2 installed fine, but
RH 7.3 stopped in the exact same place.  At the boot prompt, I had to
enter:  boot> linux ide=nodma    I also had to include that option in my
/boot/grub/grub.conf file.  I believe there is a way to add that line
during the install.  I found this from various posts on
groups.google.com, so if my suggestion doesn't work, check there for
some more assistance.
