Alan -

Going on the offensive against your company over this to this degree
might not necessarily be called for, but the fact is that this is a
Linux list and people who work with Linux and understand the Open Source
model are also quicker than most to recognize and call out some of the
crap that this industry has to offer, and a lot of said crap comes from
Microsoft.

Such people also tend to be particularly critical of deliberate
standards-breaking or -hiding in IT. Your company's Web site is an
illustration of that on its face. My earlier comment suggested that
there may be a collusion between MS and Web shops, and it's a perfectly
reasonable hypothesis; it would be in keeping with MS' history of
predatory behavior. Personally, I believe that it is harmful to the
industry and to Internet users in general to push for anything other
than standards compliance in Web browsing. As an IT Manager, I would
kick the butt of anyone who worked for me who let out with a comment
like "most people run IE anyway; if that works then that's fine." I
would push for coding for STANDARDS-COMPLIANT BROWSERS and I would ALSO
push for making sure that open-source browsers stay compliant as well.
That's to say that if something's broken, find out which piece has
deviated and work to fix the deviant piece, so, if it turns out that you
think you're compliant on the server side but Konqueror does it wrong,
then it's time to work with the Konqueror team to resolve the issue.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't care for whoever did your Web site's
attitude as indicated by that error page. You can expect to catch some
hell on their behalf when posting a message like that to a Linux list.
