[ale] Partitions

I run debian and like to have things a bit broken up.  I have a / at only
100MB and then a /var @ 130+MB (don't ask why this size, I don't remember).
Most importantly I have a /usr and a /usr/local and a /home.  I keep /usr and
/usr/local separate because debian's dpkg doesn't use /usr/local so I keep all
my programs that I complile myself there so I don't get any confusion and
mixture with the dpkg packages.  /home is separate so that I can reinstall
from scratch if I feel the need/desire and not loose any of my personal
infromation or files.

I would give a least 3-5GB to /usr in this scenario and then however much you
feel is necessary for the others.
