I've added the ppp entry, although I still get the tty-ldisc-3 error??

I've compiled slip support, and don't know what mkiss is.

ppp_generic.o module is loaded.

No, I've not used ppp with this kernel, but I did compile it as a 
module.  Kernel 2.4.12

I'll check it out.  I've found about 4 different docs on this, all 
taking different approaches.  Some pass ppp args on the command line, 
others place them in the options file.  Some call pppd from a script 
referenced in /etc/passwd, others from a script in one of the mgetty 
config files.  Jeese...

Should work without it, though right?  I'll worry about that once I get 
the connection to complete. :)
