[ale] gentoo failure on install

when do you get these errors?

ok, this has happend 2 times on the most recent build and once on the older
build for a total of 3 out of 3 times, i cant get gentoo installed and the
errors are as follows:

hdd tray open
end request: I/O error, dev 16:40 (hdd), sector 744 (repeats for different
sectors )
bzip2: I/O or other error, bailing out. possible reason follows.
bzip2: Input/Output error
input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)
tar: child returned status 1

and no my cdrom tray is not open ;) the cd is in there. i was following the
install doc on the site to a T everything seemed cool but.... like i said 3
difference cdrw's 2 different versions .. any suggestions? also i used 2
different computers the first recent version of the cd i made was on this
cdrw drive the second and the slightly older version was made on a computer
at work, neither worked, my cdrw media is fine from what i can tell, (never
used it before, brand new media)., if someone can solve this issue youll be
my hero ;) :) i appreciate your time
