I hesitate to get involved in a topic where so many feelings are getting hurt. But I don't think he meant physical saturation. I think he meant economic saturation.Â
I think there's also some valid point out there about land supporting fewer people at a higher standard of living.
It seems relatively obvious to me that new H1B statuses ought to be granted inversely relative to american unemployment. Unemployment is at its highest point in 8 or 9 years. Well then immigration levels ought to be at the lowest for the same time period. The reverse of course would also be true.
As for people coming in and undercutting you wage wise, Well most of of us are over paid anyway. If you want to get paid more, then prove you can create a better product (yeah this is real easy, I know, but I trust it will prove true over the long haul)
For what it's worth I've worked with H1B candidates that couldn't code their way out of a paper bag and also with some that were simply incredible. The ones that didn't get it done did not last long at all.
I know if you are on the outside looking in then you want those same opportunities as american citizens. I know I sure would. The truth is that America has to take care of it's own if it's going to remain an economic powerhouse long term. The US of A has to do whats best for the US of A.
You gotta clean up your own backyard before you go help your neighbor out with his.Â
When they give that talk on the airplane they tell you to secure your own oxygen mask before assisting your children. That's because if you pass out then your whole family is screwed.
Ok, so my analogies are stupid and I sit here in fear of someone finding a grammatical error or spelling mistake in this message. But the point is you can only control you, and you should vote for the polliticians that place their trust in YOU instead of the ones that don't think you are capable of taking care of yourself.Â
We're where we are now because several generations of purple, blue, green and polka dotted americans that came before us, took care of business. They Out worked (or maybe spent) the USSR, out engineered the germans, and out warriored the japanese.
For what it's worth I think they also kicked a lot of ass, chewed a lot of bubble gum, and smoked a lot of cigarettes. But that's another post entirely.
