OTOH, TiVo runs Linux under the skin, though they do have the luxury of an
ASIC MPEG encoder.  (Disclaimer:  I've never cracked a TiVo, it may not be
an ASIC, but it's certainly a custom board)

While we're chatting, anyone want to speculate on the probabilities of
getting a quad-channel (4 card, HW encoding) PVR running on a Linux box?
Just a fantasy project...
