That's why I use apt-get on my RH box.  It simplifies this enormously.

I didn't actually use apt-get for this install.  The rpms that I pointed
to earlier came with the advice that you should just remove all the kde
rpms, and arts, then install them fresh.  When I switched from those to
the texstar rpms I did the same thing.  I removed all kde rpms and did
"rpm -Uvh kde*" Then given any unresolved dependency I just added it to
the command line.  Unfortunately I don't have the full list of what I
needed, but it was all in the texstar rpms collection.  For instance,
libfontconfig is in the fontconfig rpm.
