I have two drives; Win98 is on hdb and Linux is on hda.  In the past I
have used a LILO entry something like this to boot from the CD-ROM and
trick Windows into installing on hdb without touching the MBR on hda.

other=/dev/hdc1
     label=win_install
     map-drive=0x80
          to=0x81
     map-drive=0x81
          to=0x80
     unsafe
