Makes sense.
For anyone interested, these Escalade Cards claim incredible speeds:
7500-4 RAID 0 Read 140.1 MBytes/sec 323.9 IO/sec
7500-4 RAID 0 Write 137.0 MBytes/sec 362.2 IO/sec
7500-4 RAID 5 Read 105.0 MBytes/sec 339.8 IO/sec
7500-4 RAID 5 Write 65.5 MBytes/sec 87.9 IO/sec
(from: www.3ware.com/products/pdf/Benchmark_7500-4-8.pdf)
These benchmarks are for 4 drive arrays - they get a lot higher when you add
drives.
