that if you use the precompile i686 installer to save time.
you can still use the x86 generic install cd to install.
you just have to wait for everything to compile.

The Gentoo website says that it requires "a Pentium Pro or greater
processor (K6 won't work). " Is this true ? I ask as I have an AMD
processor.
