[ale] Programming Question - Where to Start

Two separate paths --

Linux SysAdmin -- Shell scripting, Perl, C
Linux Programmer -- Shell scripting, Python, C/C++

Don't pay too much attention to my tracks above, just note that shell
scripting is essential to becoming competent with Linux.
