Yes, you can plug your ethernet DSL modem into DSL router
if it has all the supported "feature" bllSouth DSL need - pppoe
and I do not think they do mac address checks.
I have Netgear RT314 working with mindspring.... DynDns support :)

dsl modem with linux.  

Are these modems compatible?

One additional question.  I have a DSL router...can I
plug the external ethernet modem into this or do I
