[ale] deb like sys

anyone know of some good systems that use debian
packages? im checking out linux distros and i know
debian comes highly recommended... i havent found that
linux distro im perfectly happy with yet so.. i was
looking for debians known quality with apt-get (gotta
love it) and ease of use linux without all the garbage
programs installed with it... any suggestions?
