Well, I am someone who is on the same boat here. I think the original
poster was meaning to ask about sending the mail out, using an exchange
server. I am utilizing Netscape messenger with IMAP as mail protocol
(under windows/linux), for the inbound mail, but I have a blessing that,
we have mail relay agent machines for other purposes that I can utilize
to send mail out via SMTP. I am sure one day will come and those
machines will go away. Therefore if there is a intermediary agent which
will go between my messenger and the exchange server, and convert my
outbound message headers to look like they were sent from an outlook (or
any other MS compatible) client. I tried using the exchange server as
SMTP server under Netscape msgr, but mail server and client do not seem
to get the hang of handshake. Sending message dialog box hangs there
forever and more if I let it go.

Any takers ?
