Seems like MAPS ( www.mail-abuse.org ) offers a blocking product based on a
list of open mail relays, which is where the vast majority of spams emanate.
In theory, your MTA would check the IP address of the incoming message,
perform a lookup in the open relay DB and take appropriate action.
If you use Exim for your MTA, you can also set up content filters.
