[ale] I cant get my modem im running linux for the first time

Ok, what is the message you're getting when it tells you, that your modem 
cannot be set-up ? Does your computer see your modem ? Is it even trying to 
dial your isp,if so..what happens when it does dial ? If not,what message do 
you see when it tries and cannot dial ? Please,tell us more about your 
problem  :-)
