[ale] modem busy

Lee, 

It's been awhile since I went through this, but I feel
your pain.  First thing I'd do is look out on the web
to see if anyone else has gotten the modem working
with Linux.  Check out www.linmodem.org.

If they have, then there should be available info on
IO ports (which can also be obtained from /proc/pci). 
Also look for appropriate flags to set, and make note
of all of these.  Finally, use this info with
setserial.  Here's an example of my setserial command
for my USRobotics 56k Performance Pro:

setserial /dev/ttyS4 irq 9 port 0xe400 ^fourport
^auto_irq skip_test

ln -sf /dev/ttyS4 /dev/modem

Check out `man setserial` for more info on what the
flags specify.  Even if you can't find exact
information, you may be able to get it to work by
playing with it a bit.
