With regards to your NetBEUI statement.......Quite possibly the
understatement of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plus for my own two cents worth....It seems that a lot of folks think
NetBEUI and NetBIOS go hand in hand and one needs the other to function. I
have seen many cases where it was thought that NetBIOS relied upon NetBEUI.

Uh, no. I've yet to see an implementation of NetBEUI on any *nix. Maybe I
missed something though. I've seen IPX/SPX used on *nix, but to the best
of my knowledge, Samba only works with TCP/IP. The whole argument is
pretty pointless though. NetBEUI is pretty useless under most
circumstances.
