Linux System Engineer
Manufacturer and provider of an innovative and highly sophisticated network
security product seeks a Linux System Engineer to join their development team.
This individual will provide technical support and design, code, and test
additions and modifications to an existing Linux kernel. Will work in a team
environment on the following types of tasks:
Specific duties will include all aspects of designing and deploying distributed
network security operating systems; including integration of proven and emerging
security technologies; evaluating and integrating multiple hardware platforms
with Linux/Unix based operating systems; analyzing and implementing network
standards; evaluating customer networks for security; development and analysis
of software requirements and design specifications for the next generation of
security software; analysis of source code for new and known vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
* Systems level Linux development including kernel or device driver development
* Experience with C and specifically Linux kernel maintenance and modification
* 6+ years of Linux & Unix System Administration/Engineer experience
* Extensive Linux Security knowledge and experience
* At least 3 years of TCP/IP network administration experience
* Minimum of 3 years experience in Security Application Engineering
including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and honeypots
* At least 3 years of shell scripting experience
* Experience with distributed application management in a heterogeneous
environment
* Experience with database development
* Ability to thrive in a startup environment.
* Excellent analytic, problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
* Experience with FreeBSD a plus.
