I've located a CD unit.  Can someone point me where I can download a RH sparc ISO?  I have a 500mb HDD.  I am loading via serial console.

Thanks,
Chris

The floppy device is not a "bootable" device on a Sun.  I do not think it is big enough to hold all of the crap needed to boot a sun.

The older single speed SCSI cd-rom's sould work on the 10.  Set the SCSI ID to "6".  Sun looks at "6" for the boot CD.

I do not have CD.  I can try to install via network.  Why is floppy not listed?

Chris,

Do you have a CD rom on this machine?  Can you boot off of the CD to verify the disk?

I have a CD-ROM and media if needed.  Also have a Sparc 20 I want to sell.....

Looks like no bootstrape on the disk.  Sun is also picky on the SCSI id numbers.

Chris,

You need to do a stop a or a break during boot to get to the boot prompt (ok>) then change boot device.....

I have a sparc10 I want to run Linux on.  I need to load Linux on the unit and the unit tries to boot from Ethernet.  How can I disable that?

I keep getting the following error message:

Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet
I can use arp to provide an address, but I need to boot from the hdd to see if Solaris is loaded.  Hoe do I tell the system to boot from the drive not Ethernet.  I'm not using video, I'm using serial console.
