Hello all. A friend and co-woker of mine (David Hamm) showed me this list
and told me to use it to help me in my learning curve with Linux. Well, that
is what I am about to do. I attemtped to load SSh on my Linux box at work.
That entailed me having to download a compiler for the silly thing. I
download gcc-2.95.1-3.i386.rpm and installed it (correctly I believe). Well
when I run the ./configure for ssh-1.2.30.tar.gz I get the following error:
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables.
I am logged in as root while doing this. My system is a 486 running 32mb ram
and RedHat 6.2. Thanks for any help and I look forward to learning from the
many people here.
