[ale] Problems compiling 2.2.16

The line it's complaining about is the last line of a union in the
coda.h header.  Is this what you find on that line?  Sounds like a
syntax error in the header file.  I've got 2.2.16 source on my machine
here, but I don't seen anything wrong with the header file.
