[ale] Creative CD DVD and Ensonic 1370

AH HA!!!!  I startd the xmixer program.  Volume was at 3/4.  What was Off
were the "Lines", Line 1, 2, 3.  I started pushing the buttons and all of a
sudden the sound came on.  Line 1 was "off". I am not sure what the other
lines do. 

The xmixer setting, however do not stick.  I have to invoke xmixer after
each boot.  I am reading the man pages as we speak.  Can I not invoke a
command line to xmixer or edit a config file to make the settings stick?

if realplay works then all your sound devices are probably configured
correctly.

its possible your cd out volume is set to zero. run
xmixer/ossmixer/alsa(?)mixer(?) and try to increase the volume.
