usually, when you choose X-Developer, it only Selects that, X-User,
Developer, and User, because all of the packages included in those are
included in X-Developer

Subject: [ale] [OT]FreeBSD 4.0 install

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the off-topic post; I've installed
Linux hundreds of times, but this is my first
foray into the *BSD world, and it's aggravating.
The FreeBSD www site is no doubt very helpful
after you've been there a few dozen times and
know your way around, but I couldn't find an
answer to this question there:

I just got my FreeBSD 4 CDs in the mail, and I'm
trying to do a basic install of X+developer
utilities. The installer won't let me; it
insists on installing the whole shebang, no matter
what canned packages I choose on the "here are
some canned configurations" menu. Anybody know
if there is a workaround for this?

Email direct to me rather than the list would
probably be appropriate.

Thanks,
