[ale] Mitac 6133 GIM Fan

I have a laptop from Gim computers called a Mitac 6133.  The problem is is that it gets very hot and the Fan is not always on.  It's strange that the fan is on when I am in the bios.  But when I go to linux it cuts off.  Does anyone know if something can be done in linux to keep the fan on all the time.
Can I do something to the hardware.  I looked at the bios and there is no place to set the fan to always on.
