The NE2000 clones seem to be readily available and not very expensive
($10-20); you should be able to find one at a CompUSA.
If not detected at boot, use the command 'modprobe ne' to load the NE*000
driver and display the IO and IRQ address; then edit /etc/conf.modules
adding the following (example) lines:
alias eth0 ne
alias eth1 ne
options eth0 io=0x1111 irq=1
options eth1 io=0x2222 irq=2
I just finished bringing up a new system with one of these type cards.
