Just to add my .02, I work for a large computer company (initials start
with and h and a p) as a contract nt admin. There are actually NT boxes
that are rebooted weekly just to make sure they dont have any problems
(All application servers), There is even an app server that we reboot
every night to guarantee that it doesnt crash! I have found that NT is
very high maintenance, but if you do baby it it can be reasonably stable.
But what is the point of relative stability (compared to 9x) if you have
to spend all your time babying it so it stays happy?

Nick

ps. Anyone installed the y2ksp4? You have to reboot after installing the
service pack, then the servers usually hang on boot so you have to reset
them, then they boot up, and you have to install ie4sp1, and some other
program, then reboot again! 3 reboots for suppose^M^M^M^M y2k compliance.
(which I read still requires 60 hours of testing per box)

<insert disclaimer here - these are my opinions yada yada>

``You don't run for vice president,'' Quayle told the Post in one of
20 interviews. ``But let me say that there're ways you can be put on the
available chart. And without a lot of fanfare, because ... when you let
people know you're going to do something and you don't achieve it, it's
a failure. So you keep expectations down and do things as quietly and
subtly as possible.''
