[ale] Porting output

I would like to capture the output of a program to another terminal or
session.  So far, running a program called t1 like this has worked
reasonably well:

t1 $1>/dev/tty3 , etc.

I was wondering about two issues.  The first is how to send this to a
virtual virtual terminal on another system.  The second would be how to
stop the "stair step" effect when porting info to another virtual terminal
that has no one logged into it.

I saw this posted earlier, but a search of the archives was fruitless.  No
doubt, a fault on my part...
