Go to http://www.computers4sure.com
They have the Linksys 10/100 56K modem for ~$139 plus shipping.
I got one last week for this new Dell Latitude CPt and it is running great under Suse6.1. I just made sure the pcmcia
module was loaded and both parts of the card came up fine. Haven't tested 100Mbps yet though.
Oh yeah...
2.2.7 kernel
Also,
got X running with SVGA server using 24bpp @1024x768. Really is nice. I did not need the framebuffer support as I
thought. Just specify to the Xserver the correct addresses of the video since it finds the sound addresses of the
chipset first. I'll post the XF86Config when I get a chance. I don't want to mess with the Synaptics TouchPad package
since it is pretty alpha right now and the PS/2 mouse driver works just fine. Got APMD working after recompiling and
including support. I recompiled for a i686 arch and am noticing some speedup. Can I recompile the Xserver for i686
with little trouble? I imagine it is precompiled as i386, right? This is alot of fun being able to play with
compilation of the OS! Has anyone had success with a controlling the fan in laptops other than Toshiba? I found that
package but couldn't find any others.
