Edit the /usr/src/linux/.config file, if you dare.  Then I suggest you
do a make config again, and just keep hitting return.  make config goes
off and does other things after it generates the .config so to be sure
whatever needs to be done, gets done, you probably need to do the make
config once again.  

Or use make menuconfig or xconfig.
