This was reported on slashdot earlier this week and pretty thoroughly
deconstructed by the readers.
 
Essentially they tweaked the NT machine for optimal performance and
made almost no effort to tweak the Linux machine.  For instance, they
didn't raise the thread limit on Linux, thus keeping apache from
spawning many threads.  Thus apache looked bad on Linux.  But anyone
really using apache knows to tweak Linux, too.

I think that Linux Weekly News is planning some sort of rebuttal this
week.  I've never seen any other benchmark showing NT is faster under
load, not even zdnet.

You should be away that the mindcraft study was paid for by MicroSoft.
